Recent Research
The aeroplane came down close to Wernsdorf, which lies West of FRANKLEBEN. The village of Wernsdorf is now long gone because of "Braunkohlentagebau" - brown coal opencast mining. Wernsdorf was west of Frankleben - now there is Lake Geiseltalsee instead.
