There will be a formal seating plan for the Saturday evening dinner in order to get a quite large number of
people all seated at one time together.
There will be no formal seating plan for the Friday evening dinner.
Friday 12th July
17:00 onwards arrive Ashbourne Hotel, North Killingholme
20:00 Informal Dinner (no seating plan).
Saturday 13th July
08:00-09:00 Breakfast
We are delighted to announce that our application for a Lancaster flypast on Saturday 13 July has been successful.
The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight have confirmed the time as 12.01pm but any flypast is subject
to the weather, serviceability and BBMF operational requirements.
As ever, any change to the time of the flypast may mean alterations to the afternoon’s schedule.
Event schedule: depends on the time of flypast. The outline schedule is likely to include:
- BBMF Flypast
- A buffet lunch in the Amethyst Hotel, East Halton
- Laying of the wreaths at the Memorial Stone
- Service in St. Denys' Church
- Afternoon tea in the Village Hall
19:30 Formal Dinner in the Ashbourne Hotel.
Important note regarding car travel to North Killingholme:
The main road into North Killingholme (East Halton Road) will close to all traffic at the railway bridge on May 11th until the end of September.
For those travelling to North Killingholme please come off the A180 at the usual turn off (Brocklesby interchange) after the usual turnoff keep on the dual carriageway toward Immingham Dock.
After half a mile pass under the road bridge and then bear left at the traffic lights, past Phillips 66 continue over the new railway bridge past Total refinery entrance on the right then left into North Killingholme through the bollards. (There is a sign to the Ashbourne hotel at this junction).
There are bollards partly across the road but enough room for cars to pass.
Visitors will be able to travel to the Amethyst and the Memorial Stone by the usual route.
After entering the village the Ashbourne Hotel will be on the left opposite St.Denys’ Church. Turn left at the village green and the hotel car park entrance is fifty yards on your left. The 550 Squadron Museum is in the Village Hall on the right about fifty yards past St. Denys' Church.
Free parking is available at the Ashbourne but may be restricted. Disabled parking spaces are located outside the entrance to the block on your left as you face Reception from the car park.
Visitors will be able to travel from North Killingholme to the Memorial Stone and Amethyst Hotel by the usual route with no diversions. The Amethyst is in East Halton, approximately 1.5 miles from North Killingholme. There is ample free parking.
