Roll of Honour

Summary

The Roll of Honour contains the names of the aircrew of No. 550 Squadron (Royal Air Force, Royal Australian Air Force, Royal Canadian Air Force and Royal New Zealand Air Force) who gave their lives while the Squadron was on operations against the enemy between 26 November 1943 and May 1945.

In addition to those on this list who died ca. 85 members of No. 550 Squadron took to their parachutes over the continent. The great majority of these became Prisoners of War but a small number evaded capture and were helped back to England.

The extended version of the Roll of Honour includes further information about each servicemen such as service number and grave number/location information and links to other sources where available including to a link to the full record held on the database for the servicemen. The list has been put together from a number of sources, but special thanks to Brian Goodwin who provided the detailed cemetery and grave number information and Andrew Beattie who researched CWGC links.
