BCA Memorial Unveiling
Green Park, London Thursday 28 June 2012
The date is confirmed and a few essential details are now known.
Dedication and unveiling will start at noon and last ca. one hour.
Because of the sloping ground directly in front of the Memorial seating in that
area is limited. So priority for seating in the "frontal" area is as follows:
a) members of Bomber Command Association who served in Bomber Command in WWII
b) close relatives of of the 55,573 Bomber Command Personnel who died in WWII
c) other members of Bomber Command Association.
Individuals who fall into one of the three categories above will be limited to one guest
only for seating in the "frontal" area.
For those who do not qualify for the "frontal" area, additional areas in Green Park will
be provided where guests can watch events on large screens. Some shelter from inclement weather
will be provided but it is unlikely that all seating will be covered.
Applications for seats in these addditional areas need to be registered NOW.
At the conclusion of the Unveiling Ceremony there will be the opportunity for individuals
and Bomber Squadron Associations to lay wreaths.
There is also a reunion event on the evening of Wednesday 27 June.
Mewmbers of BCA should have already received a letter from the BCA Chairman with an
attendance form to complete and return. If you have not received a form and you wish to
attend then you need to contact BCA straightaway.
A copy of the BCA Memorial Unveiling form (here) can be printed off and posted or emailed in on completion.
