Westerbeek Commemoration

550 Squadron Commemoration 2005

May 2005

In May 2005 a new Memorial to the F/O Nye crew of PD221, was unveiled in Westerbeek, The Netherlands.

A number of relatives of the air-crew travelled to attend the ceremony. Attending on behalf of the 550 Squadron Association were Jack and Bobbie Harris.

Many thanks to Hans Ooms, a friend of the Association, and the people of Westerbeek for their efforts in remembering this crew which failed to return home to North Killingholme.

Below is a selection of photographs, from the Jack Harris collection, of the Commemoration event that took place.
