Major new Channel 4 series seeks relatives of Bomber Command Aircrew

RDF Media, the company behind many acclaimed UK TV shows is working on a new series, and I have been asked to appeal for volunteers through the website.

I'm working on a major series for Channel 4 on the airmen of Bomber Crew in World War II - which is being made by the same people that did last year's acclaimed 'Spitfire Ace' series. The series will chart the course of Allied bombers throughout the War, featuring the aircraft, the tactics, the training and the history but most of all the people who were actually involved - it will very much be a salute to them and their war.

The element of the series that we're working on currently is the area of training - we are looking for grandchildren or great-grandchildren of Bomber Crew airmen (aged 18-30 years old) - we will then put these young volunteers through some of the elements of training that airmen undertook in WW2.  This will be an opportunity for them to gain a better understanding of what it meant to be a member of a bomber crew.

As your website is both incredibly informative and obviously a location where a large number of current as well as ex-Squadron members come to research - we were wondering if there was any chance that you could post some information on your site?  As some of your visitors may have young relatives who could be interested in taking part in this series?

you are interested and would like to know more information please contact Jess on 020 7013 4476 or email Jessica.versluys@rdfmedia.com

Entirely unrelated to the RDF media request, I have also received an appeal for airmen to appear in an ITN documentary. Click this link for more information.
