BQM2 star
In March 1996 star No. Aquila RA18h58m 27.065-D17°24' was renamed 'Baker Queenie Mike Squared' in memory of Frank Pritchard, a founder member of 550 Association. BQM2,or 'Baker Queenie Mike Squared' was the identification code of the Lancaster in which he served as a gunner.

Although astronomers take little note of the new names but it is interesting to imagine someone in the future enquiring into the unusual name of this star.

The Eagle constellation was thought appropriate to aviation and is visible, at certain times of the year from Britain or Australia. It is difficult to see with the naked eye, so a telescope or binoculars will be useful if you are attempting to view the star.
