I write this just hours before setting off on my cycling trip to France, and as I speak, the North Killingholme Memorial weekend is occurring. I have been told that it's going well, and I hope it continues to. If anyone has any comments or photos about the event, please email them to me. Also any comments, corrections or suggestions for the website, please email me .

June 2004

When I created this page, I was hoping to regularly update it, with the events of the 60th anniversary year, but its been a little neglected recently. I had my last AS level exam today, so will have a bit more time to spend on the site over the next few weeks.

In May, I went to Westerlo, Belgium, for the commemorative services held for the crew of Lancaster DV309. This was an overwhelming, moving but enjoyable experience and I would like to repeat my thanks to everybody involved, especially the Belgian organising committee. Photos and newspaper reports about the weekend are included here.

March 2004

Just realised that I won't be able to get to Killingholme for the reunion weekend (9th-11th July) - I'm on a school cycling trip in France, and I didn't notice. Please accept my apologies.

This means that I will not be able to demo the website there - if anyone is interested in sorting out a computer to have a copy of the site running (probably on the Saturday night), please email me.

4th January 2004

For Christmas, I received an attractive 550 Squadron clock, commemorating the 60th Anniversary. If anybody is interested in buying one of these, they are available at a cost of £17. Please contact Jack Harris:

I received the squadron newsletter from Jack Harris. Two major dates for members:

July 2003

The year 2004 marks sixty years since 550 Squadron moved to North Killingholme in 1944, and during the 2003 reunion weekend, there was much discussion as to a special event of some kind. Ideas proposed at the AGM included:

If anybody has any further ideas, please email me, or send your idea directly to Jack Harris - his address can be found on the 'join the association' page.
