Due to the current COVID-19 (Coronavirus) situation the 550 Squadron Association reunion, planned for July in North Killingholme, has been cancelled.
Right up to the recent government announcement on Monday 14th June it had been hoped that the reunion planned for 9th-11th July 2021 in North Killingholme could take place. However, following that
announcement, it has become clear that it was no longer possible to hold the event within the current guidelines.
The Church service at St Denys' Church, North Killingholme would not be possible.
Furthermore, while the flypast (one of the key events of the weekend) by the BBMF Spitfire might still have been possible, it depended, at least in part, on a number of other
events the same day, and with no clear indication whether any of these would continue then it was no longer clear if the flypast would actually be able to take place.
The Association has therefore, with sadness, for the second year taken the decision that the reunion cannot safely be held this year.
If you have made any travel or other arrangements/bookings with a view to visiting North Killingholme for the reunion then you should cancel these as the event will NOT now take place.
The Ashbourne Hotel have been very supportive of the decision and the Association will not be charged any cancellation fee. Those of you who have already booked rooms should contact the hotel
directly to cancel your bookings, and likewise will not be charged any cancellation fee. They have told us they will be glad to welcome us back once the current crisis is over.
As and when new information becomes available the web-site will be updated.
