This narrative, included in the Station Operational Record Book, records P/O Taylor's Lancaster, LL850, being hit by the bombs of another Lancaster 3000ft above them, the bombs going through their port wing. Desipte the severe damage to the aircraft the pilot managed to return and land at Manston.
