550 Squadron
F/Sgt Robert Johnson
F/Sgt Robert Johnson was the bomb aimer on ND425.
F/Sgt Johnson, along with the rest of the crew of ND425, was killed on 30/31 March 1944 when his Lancaster bomber was shot down by a night-fighter on the raid to Nurmburg. The plane exploded over Unterspiesheim, 11 km SSE of Schweinfurt. ND425 was one of two 550 Squadron Lancasters lost that night.

Notes: writing on the back only identifies the men by their first name, so it is possible that the surnames of Jock and Johnnie should be transposed. |
